Doing an internship at Untranslate: it’s educational, versatile, and genuinely fun! Are you a linguistic jack-of-all-trades who does not shy away from new challenges? Do you want a taste of different aspects of the language world? Then an internship at Untranslate could be a perfect fit for you.

Requirements

  • You are pursuing a linguistic master’s or postgraduate degree, such as Translation, Multilingual Communication, Translation Technology, or Computer-Assisted Language Mediation.
  • You must complete at least six weeks of internship.
  • You have C2-level skills in Dutch, French, or English. You also have an excellent command of at least one other language. Any additional language is a plus.
  • You are tech-savvy and keen to learn.
  • You are flexible and also work smoothly with your teammates, even remotely.
  • You enjoy participating in innovative and fun team-building events from time to time.

Based on your interests and skills, we will create a customised set of tasks for you. Are you naturally skilled at translating? If so, we would be happy to give you more translation assignments. Is managing large-scale projects more your thing? If so, we’ll let you emerge as our new junior project manager.

Possible tasks

  • You translate and revise texts in various forms and genres.
  • You take the initiative to write texts for various purposes.
  • Together with our project managers, you lead diverse projects in the right direction.
  • You think about marketing on a strategic and content level.
  • You work with various (translation) language technologies, such as terminology databases, translation memories, translation engines, and generative AI.
  • You will get hands-on experience with tools for graphic and audio design, such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, Audacity.
